Hi! I'm Kristin Petrony. I am over 40 years old, a wife, a mom, a former math teacher, a powerlifter, and a personal trainer.
I am originally from the Youngstown, Ohio area where I was born and raised. I attended Youngstown State University where I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education. When I was 24, I moved to Las Vegas to start my teaching career. I married my husband, earned my first masters degree, and had my son while living in Vegas. In 2014, we moved to Nashville and I completed my second masters degree shortly thereafter.
My fitness story is much like so many others. Life happens. My focus was on my family and my education, definitely not me or my body. I had no concern about what I ate or how much I moved. That caught up to me in a big way when I realized that my poor nutrition and extra weight was putting me at risk for heart disease, diabetes, among other things. I imagined my son without his mom and that's all it took to get me researching what I could do to lose weight. Through a friend, I found weightlifting and the idea of eating for my goals using macros.
Fast forward a few years and here I am! I never started this journey to become a competitive powerlifter but life has a funny way of bringing things into your path when you least expect them. I have held 24 state of Tennessee USPA powerlifting records, 4 National USPA powerlifting records, and achieved an elite total for my age and weight class with USPA! It still feels funny to say even as I type this but I am proud of that accomplishment.
I am a certified personal trainer, a certified nutrition coach, a certified strength and conditioning coach, certified powerlifting instructor, and a certified youth fitness coach. This is truly my passion. I am a teacher by nature and nothing excites me more than helping another person meet their health and fitness goals, whatever they may be. I am driven by progress, small accomplishments, and the happiness that comes from a person feeling good in their own skin. If I can even have a small part in their story, I am honored.
If you have any questions about me or what I do, please don't hesitate to contact me.
